House Guidelines

1. I agree to keep Turning Point safe. I will not possess alcohol, drugs or weapons on Turning Point property. Drugs are classified as any mind-altering substances including but not limited to kratom, over the counter speed, and misuse of any prescription drug. This includes any product that contains alcohol i.e., mouthwash, after-shave, over-control medicines, etc.

2. I agree with random drug/alcohol testing and breathalyzer. I agree to abide by the drug testing policy outlined in my intake paperwork.

3. I agree to treat residents, staff, and employees with respect. Threatening, violent, and/or aggressive behavior threatens the safe space that has been cultivated for every    resident at Turning Point.

4. I will refrain from gambling inside the house, outside the house, or on my phone.

5. I will communicate all Dr. and therapy appointments in advance. It is suggested that you disclose that you are in a recovery house and have a history of substance abuse.

6. I agree to have a sponsor within 7 days from intake. A home group will also be chosen within 2 weeks. It is suggested that the sponsor has at least 2 years of continuous sobriety and that they have worked the 12 steps.

7. I agree to attend 12-step meetings. I will attend one meeting each day with Sundays as an off day.

8. I will attend all house meetings. House recovery support meetings are held twice a week for an hour and a half each.  House meetings are subject to change due to scheduling. A Monthly Appreciation Meeting is held on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

9. I will abide by the curfew. Curfew is 10:30 P.M. on weeknights (Sun.-Thurs.) and 12:00 P.M. on weekends (Fri. & Sat. )

10. I will be eligible for a 24-hour pass after 30 days.  A 24-hour pass may be earned once a week, or a 48 hour pass every 2 weeks. I will submit a pass request at least 3 days in advance.

11. I agree to secure full-time employment within 14 days from intake. It is suggested to have an employer who takes out taxes and provides a paycheck stub.

12. I will refrain from fraternization with my preferred sex. Relationships can be difficult to navigate in early recovery. I will make my recovery first. I understand I will be able to have romantic relationships after completion of the 10th Step.

13. I understand I may have my electronic devices between 7:00am-6:00pm  for employment and bus navigation. I understand once the following goals are met, I can then have all electronic devices.

· Reside at Turning Point for 30 days

· Complete the 3rd step with a sponsor

· Current on all fees.

 14. I understand that guests are able to come for a visit after communicating with the House Manager and Director. Visits should be made in common areas. Immediate adult family members and pre-existing significant others that are not considered to be counterproductive to recovery are strongly encouraged to attend a house meeting for orientation.

15. I will be responsible for a daily chore and one deep clean chore on the weekend. I will keep my area tidy and make my bed each day.  I understand that storage is limited so I will only bring enough belongings to fit the space provided. I understand that eating should take place in the kitchen. Each person is responsible for washing their own dishes at the time they are used.

 16. I will have an accountability partner anytime I leave the house other than for work.

 17. After completion of the twelfth step I will utilize the sign in and out sheet along with the COMPASS app. I will stay in communication with the House Manager.

18. I understand there is an admission fee $460.00, and a weekly fee is $220. I understand I need to be home immediately after work on payday to pay fees to the House Manager. I also understand that there are no refunds.

19. I will not loan another resident’s money.

20. I will have an attitude of gratitude while at Turning Point. Dishonesty, undermining, and enabling are old behaviors and not conducive when residing in a recovery-based environment. I will take any concerns to a house meeting to be discussed. I understand that enabling another resident to break a rule may have the same consequences as breaking the rule.

21. I understand that transportation is my responsibility. I will communicate with the director prior to having a vehicle on property.

22. I understand that lost or stolen property is not the responsibility of Turning Point.

23. I agree to complete 3 service commitments prior to graduation and receiving my watch.
